Root Beer Float


  • 1/8 tsp Baking Soda

  • 3 -6 tbsp Black Tea

  • 2 cups boiling water

  • 1 1/2  - 2 cups of sugar (by taste)

  • 6 cups cold water

  • Lemon slices for garnish (*optional)


  1. Put baking soda and tea in a teapot or small saucepan

  2. Pour over with boiling water

  3. Let steep for a minimum of 15 minutes

  4. Add sugar to a large pitcher

  5. Strain tea into pitcher with sugar and stir to mix.

  6. Add cold water (and ice if needed)

  7. Stir to fully mix

  8. Garnish with lemon slices and enjoy
